The Lido's production of "C'EST MAGIQUE" was a dramatic reworking of the classic Parisian cabaret show, with eye-popping special effects and new themes, both nostalgic and contemporary, including aerial and aquatic ballets using more than 60,000 gallons of water.

The show, the most expensive in Europe at the time, used 80 performers, $4 million in costumes, and a $2 million lighting design with lasers.
There was even an ice rink that magically appeared and disappeared.
...and the legendary topless Bluebell Girls were still there.

Now that the celebrated chef Paul Bocuse is a consultant, the food has become even better.

Formal attire is requested.
Jacket and tie is appreciated.
No casual clothes such as jeans, tennis shoes, or sportswear.

Nightlife

Being from "down on the farm" we couldn't miss this part of "Gay Paree" so went to the late show. It is incredible! The stage is frequently filled with lovely and topless young women, but the show is not tawdry or sleazy. The production was unbelievable. At various times the stage was an ice rink, waterfall and western saloon with cowboys on horseback riding through and shootin' up the place. It is not cheap. Dinner shows start at 140 euro, late shows at 80 (including a split of champagne). I think it was well worth the money.

I am not sure what dress code prevails here, but I did not wear a tie, but a sport shirt, slacks and jacket. I doubt that jeans and shorts would be welcome, but I don't know.

Lido is competing for the first place of cabarets with Moulin Rouge, but it's definitely No.1 on Champs Elysées.

The place is a bit more "easy going" then the spots on Pigalle, there is also a children's menu for instance :)

Prices range from 80-120 EUR (show only), Dinner shows cost 140-200 EUR (kids menu for 30 EUR, show not appropriate for children under 4 :).

More elegant then casual, but no tie required.

The Lido de Paris!!! Saw that in Las Vegas a couple of times and when my friend's father, concierge at a grand Parisian Hotel, arranged, for us, dinner show seats at the Lido de Paris I was thrilled to have the chance to see the original.

The venue was smaller than in Vegas, the show was equal, the food and service was superior.

The effects of a present day show is more spectacular than it would have been in the 1920's, still it felt like stepping back in time.

Everywhere in Paris, stylishly casual, is the minimum. At the Lido, you'd want to be more formal than casual. The Key: Dress your best.

If you must see a show then I would recommend this one instead of the Moulin Rouge.....but don't get me wrong it still cost 100 Euros just to get in the door. Be careful in what you order.....order the wrong thing and you will pay dearly. Stick to the wines and champagnes and you will be OK. But the prices are still high !!!!! but then again when aren't they in Paris !!!!! The place is full of tourist but besides that it is a good show and good time !!! Would do it again !!!!!

Coat and Tie required for the Gentlemen !!!

Well, Paris is well known for it's spectacular night life entertainment, with the cabaret shows and so on, but the one i went to was C'est Magique at The Lido' on the Champs Elysees.
No words to describe it... think vibrant colours, music, dancing, girls, more girls, fancy costumes, feathers, champagne, and oh the list goes on.....It's a must!

Smart.

Lido de Paris:
A very impressive Las Vegas style cabaret .. with French flare that is! Worth a visit :)

Pub St.Germain-des-Prés:
A huge bar with a HUGE selection of beer (over 450)!
Enough said :)

La Locomotive:

Different floors playing rock, house music, groove and dance music.Great place to dance the night away and practice that French I taught you! :)

LRex Club:

A dance club with techno and reggae music. International crowd.

I went to Le Lido, it is a Cabaret Show,
ThePoloRoom,a Martini Bar with techo chill music close to Champs Elysees (3, rue Lord Byron75008 Paris),La Fabrique at Bastile and many other places that I can't remember the name. Surely must also visit St.Germain area. Lot's of Cafes and great restaurants. Also visit Manray, this is a restaurant owned by Sean Penn and Johny Depp. I spent most of my nightlife in Champs Elysees area since I did not have enough time to go around. Bastile area could be good too and next time I should check out 'Le Queen'(Gay Bar, but they have mix crown on specific day also on the beautiful Champs Elysees, Last but not least, of course the Budha Bar
I definitely love the great musics, not to mention the beautiful crowd ;-))

To Le Lido you must wear formal clothing,also to some night club but not to Polo Room or La Fabrique. We need to make reservations at some places.
