Okay, from this photo onward, I was walking with Patrick on our last night in Paris...The photos that I present here are taken chronologically as me & Patrick were walking from our hotel in Montmartre area & the first photo that I took was...the world famous Moulin Rouge ! No...we didn't go in the place, too expensive ! We walked infront of it; Even this would make my trip worth thinking about !
Apart from the windmill which is part of the original building, everything else is re-built & built all through the years.

The Moulin Rouge is famous for entertaining people since 1889. Dinner and a show are the main event. I'd skip the dinner personally. Also you may end up at a cramped table with complete strangers. The show was good. I'm glad I went but I wouldn't go again. Some of the dancers are topless but it is not really risque. Enjoy the dance routines, feathers, sequins and original music. There is even a dancer wrestling/swimming with a huge snake in a water tank.
Formal attire is requested. No jeans or sneakers, go with a sport coat or suit and no tie.

Everybody has heard about it: that famous old brothel/nightclub. Especially after the introduction of the song and movie it was in the picture again.
It is a very commercial happening, that´s true, but I found worth every penny of it. Some of the best dancers are in this spectacularly sparkling show. Humor, acrobatics, nice women and a lot of dance and rythm are being passed in review. A simple bottle of champagne is an option and drinks are nicely served at your (reserved!) table during the spectacle. Even though the show is interesting for anyone, it still has a naughty flair...
Something nice would be good to fit in with the surroundings. That means not something very casual!

We were so excited to catch a show at the Moulin Rouge, until we saw the entrance fee! So, we settled for a picture of the outside and went to find cheaper entertainment.

The whole area around the Moulin Rouge is very bohemian and a great night out. There are some bars, some very dodgy sex shops that are a bit creepy - but it is all a bit of a laugh really!
