GARDENS OF VERSAILLES

Used by the kings of France from the 12th century, the medieval royal hunting lodge of Fontainebleau, standing at the heart of a vast forest in the Ile-de-France, was transformed, enlarged and embellished in the 16th century by François I, who wanted to make a 'New Rome' of it. Surrounded by an immense park, the Italianate palace combines Renaissance and French artistic traditions.

This is one Palace you must see with your own eyes.
Spend most of the time in the gardens, and then take a boat ride on the pools for a few euros.
You need at least one day to see this!
We go to walk around the gardens and discuss life!

Make sure you know if your train goes directly to Versailles or how many stops that particular train will be making.

I almost didn?t get off at the right place because I was told "X" number of stops before Versailles and the train only stopped "Y" number of times!

I did very much enjoy myself here, though it will not be top on my list the next time I visit Paris.

Take a day to wander around the palace grounds and the palace.. something I dont get to see everyday. Nice. (sorry.. cant seem to find words descriptive enuff..)

Mary Antoinette had this little rustic village built on the grounds of Versailles to amuse herself...so she could pretend to be a peasant. It's a nice spot within walking distance of the Chateau.

Versailles.
The chateau is nice, but the gardens and fountains on the property impressed me the most. Following the waterway and taking a right leads to the Trianon and Marie Antoinette's village.

Take a day trip to Versaille. Only about half an hour away from Paris. Here you will find beautiful gardens, and palaces! It's a very wealthy area, so you might just feel like a King or Queen! :)

The Palace of Versailles. Maybe its not really off the beaten path but as its a little bit outside of Paris and you will need a car ... its at least a little bit off the path. Nevertheless it's absolutely worth a visit. Versailles is a 'should see' if you have been to Paris already and you want to see something new. The gardens are especially beautiful. there you can take a walk, rent a boat or just relax somewhere on the grass.

Close to Paris, you can visit this wonderful palace.
Le PALACE DE VERSAILLES.Is very easy to go, if you use the metro,about 15 minutes.
