 | Paris Champs Elysées Reviews | 21 - 30 of 212 | | Despite being overwhelmingly "touristy" this is my favorite people-watching cafe on the Champs Elysees. Though both the prices and security are very high, the experience of sipping a drink or coffee while watching people go by on the Champs is worth it. (I do not recommend dinner here... for food there are so many better places/deals just a few streets away) One of the more moving experiences I ever had in Paris took place outside Fouquet's one night last year. You can read about it here if you like.... (for romantics only): Mimi Though the inside is beautiful Virtual Fouquet's I prefer the terrace outside on the sidewalk of the Champs. Watch Paris walk by while you enjoy your 7-Euro cafe (or 10-Euro pastis), and say "Bonsoir" to Mimi and Chouibere for me if you see them. Update 2005: Fouquets prices are even more outrageous. 1 Johnny Walker Black and 1 heineken - (cha-CHING..) 28 Euros!!!! Help.... POLICE!!!!! (also... Mimi I luv U. Good 2 see u again. Many kisses to Schuider) xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Leave a Comment Address: 99, avenue des Champs-Elysées MO: George VPhone: 33 /01 47 23 50 00Directions: On the other "sw" side of the Champs Elysees. Metro George V on ligne 1 is right there, or just walk down the Champs from Arc de Triomphe a few streets.Website: http://www.lucienbarriere.com/localized/en/rest/fouq/rest_index.asp

Well, since the Arc de Triumph was at the begining or the end ( it depends how you look at it) of Champs Elysees Avenue, we decide to take a walk along this famous street. It would be a real joy if it wasn't for that blister that was killing me. My god, I could hardly pay attention on anything around me. I have to go back definitely but only in my sport shoes. without a stroll down the most famous boulevard in Paris, the Champs Elysses. A good place to start, on a beautiful sunny day, is at the Concorde metro station. In the winter, the stroll is best at night, when the trees are lit with white lights. Gaze into the shop windows as you make your way to the Arc de Triomphe, stop and have a crepe from one of the street vendors along the side. Leave a Comment

This is definitely the most recommended way to spend your afternoons and evenings. Walking distance from Louvre and from Arc De Triumph and Eifel tower, it has the best eateries, Hip crowd and LOTS of things to shop. Suggestion: spend morning-afternoon at Louvre. Walk down to Champs Elysee for a late lunch/early evening snack. Shop around a little. Walk upto Arc de triumph and climb the Arc for a magnificent view of the city. Stroll to Eiffel for an early dinner on the boat and stay for the Light show that happens everyday at 9,10 and 11.

Champs-Elysées (The Elysian Fields) is probably the most famous promenade in Paris and one of the best-known in the world. Its name is taken from “Elusia” that in Greek mythology meant a place where heroes come to relax. It stretches from the Palace de la Concorde in the east to the Arc de Triomphe that stands on the square of Charles de Gaulle in the west. Its western end is bordered by many luxury shops, cinemas, theatres, night clubs, cafés and fast foods. The other end is surrounded by the Champs-Elysées Gardens (Jardins des Champs-Elysées). This stunning arranged area is decorated with some fountains and there are grand buildings including the Grand Palais and the Petite Palais (both originally built as temporary constructions for World Fair) at the southern side and the Elysées (the residence of French Presidents since 1873) at the northern side of the Gardens Nowadays it is the place where Parisians celebrate most of the major events, such as New Year’s Eve, military parades held on the National Holiday on the 14th July or such events as celebrations of the victory in the World Cup football in 1998. It is also famous for being the last stage of Tour de France. Similarly in the past, Champs-Elysées was the place where many events were celebrated, like the liberation at the end of the World War II.

Another one of the many famous landmarks of Paris, Avenue des Champs-Elysées. Walk along this road towards the Arc de Triomphe, stopping at many of the lovely bistro's and cafe's along the way, after buying some magnificent fashion on offer in many of the desiger shops you can find here. In the photo I look calm, however, if you have ever tried standing directly in the middle of the Champs Elysees and had your photo taken with mad Parisians drving everywhere, you'll know there is actually plenty of turmoil going on inside me! I love walking up and down the Champs Elysees there is so much to see. One of my favourite Parisian activities. Leave a Comment

Well-known av des Champs-Elysees begins to the east from place de la Concorde. Now it is the central highway of Paris. That means "paradise fields " as elisium means in Greek "paradise". The continuation of gardens Tuileries avenues for Maria Medici was planted there. In 1667 Lenotre began their expansion to the west. In the end of the XVIII century the avenue was prolonged up to pl. d'Etoil (now - pl. Charles de Gaulle). In 1840 the mourning procession passed with a body of Napoleon through the avenues. The length of the prospectus is about two kilometers. Offices of the large companies, restaurants and cafe, firm shops settle down on both sides of the prospectus.

Offers Parisian glitz and glamour as you might expect it. The Avenue des Champs-Elysées is probably the most famous avenue in the world. This impressive promenade stretches from the Place the la Concorde to the Place Charles de Gaulle, the site of the Arc de Triomphe. (I didnt think the Champs Élysée would really be a so long avenue but it was a great seeing.) Along the broad sidewalks you'll find the Lido cabaret, the belle époque Claridge Hotel, cinemas and expensive cafés and luxury shops (i got surprised when i looked in the shop-windows.... beautiful clothes but also very expensive!:) ) To mention some; Lacoste, Gap, Solaris, Guerlain.... You will also find Planet Hollywood on the Champs Élysée:) Leave a Comment Address: Les Champs Élysées
