 | Paris Champs Elysées Reviews | 41 - 50 of 212 | | We visited Paris over the Christmas holidays and the Champes Elyses was beautifully lit up. After visiting the Arch de Triumph, we hung in a cafe sipping vin chaud until the lights went on and then walked the lenght to Place de Concorde. Stand at the Place de Concorde and look towards the Arch de Triumph. On a clear day you can even see the modern Arch beyond. Take the time to stroll up the Champes (or down! it's easier walking) , looking into shop windows and stopping at one of the cafes to enjoy a glass of wine. Sure, they are touristy, crowded and expensive, but you're in Paris, my friend! Leave a Comment

This street is a paradise for those who love good life, good food and good shopping. The building of Louis Vuiton is an eye catcher for shopping-tourists and window-shoppers (like me) alike. There are some big name stores to go into. One of my favourites is the parfumerie Sephora. There are also a lot of restaurants to choose from, but be careful because most of them are really pricey!

Les Champs Elysees is probably the most well known avenue in Europe. Built in the 17th Century it is steeped in history and character. Today it is home to a plethora of chain stores and restaurants by day, and clubs, cabarets and bustling crowds by night. Leave a Comment

Viewing the Champs Elysee from the Arc de Triomphe is amazing, especially at night! I could stand up there for hours and marvel at the traffic below. How there aren't accidents constantly I don't know. Stroll down the Champs Elysee and enjoy the people watching. Lots to see. In December it was so beautiful as all the Christmas lights were up. The Champs Elysees is the Beverly Hills and Broadway of France, all rolled into one. Here you will see ritzy sidewalk cafes, classy French women walking their poodles, and expensive designer clothing stores. If you are not in a huge rush, this is a great place to take a leisurely 2 kilometer stroll on your way between the Place de la Concorde and the Arc D'Triomphe as there are huge sidewalks lined with leafy trees, French flags, and beauceau people. This street was designed as a city park in the 1660s, but few traces remain of its tranquil beginnings as you will watch the crowds and traffic roaring up and down the street. Leave a Comment

This famous boulevard (the second widest in Europe, after Unirii Blvd. in Bucharest) has two distinctive parts : a huge commercial / entertainment area (Place Charles de Gaulle - Rond-Point) and a walking area bordered by chestnut trees and municipal flower beds (Rond-Point - Place de la Concorde). By all means walk along Avenue des CHAMPS ELYSEES!! It is the place for walks and entertainments of 'the cream of society', another symbol of Paris. At the entrance of the street you can see the sculpture composition - Horses of Cousteau. It ends with the Arch of Triumph. Leave a Comment

Champs Elysées. From the Louvre to the 'Arc de Triomphe' this avenue is divided into two parts. Between the Louvres and the 'Rond point des champs Elysées' there are gardens and between the 'Rond point' and the 'Arc de Triomphe' there are shops, restaurants, café ... also the Lido Cabaret, the QUEEN. THE MOST BEAUTIFUL AVENUE IN THE WORLD. Champs-Elysées This place is designed to steal the hearts of women world-wide. When you think of Paris, fashion and perfume, THIS is the place. Ladies - ensure you have plenty of space on your credit cards. Men - have a years worth of patience stored up... THIS IS SHOPPING HEAVEN! But it comes at a cost... Every 'haut marque' is here - you'll find the très chic brand names like Louis Vuitton and Morgan. The most that the 'common person' can do is window shop when it comes to clothing and shoes along here. For perfume and makeup (the really fun stuff!), head into Sephora - great prices and just ENORMOUS! Here you'll find the best perfume selection in the world, and a lot of the stock here is only available in this shop. If you want a unique scent - this is the place to find it. I wouldn't recommend eating here unless it's a special ocasion. The restaurants are fabulous but pricey. Even MacDonalds and Quick are pricey by my Australian standards. I would head down one of the many streets jutting off the Champs-Elysées and you'll find it's a little cheaper. I love this street. It's vibrant and alive with people - most of them are well dressed, as there are a lot of top model agencies here and it's also a big part of the business district. A lot of the French claim that they never go here, it's touristic, but there are really fabulous bars, clubs and restaurants - I've been invited here many times by French people I think they're all in denial! lol... :) There are some great cinemas along here also, that show English films with French subtitles - a really great thing for me! This is the centre of Paris, and despite the denial of the French never to go there, it is a reknowned meeting place for everyone. Leave a Comment Other Contact:

Walk down Avenue des Champs-Elysees. What a great place to people watch, eat, drink, and be merry. Like all of Paris its very expensive. I discovered here that the price of your coffee and lunch is higher if you sit at the tables than if you take it away. Pay the extra money and ease into the Paris lifestyle. Leave a Comment
