 | Paris Eiffel Tower Reviews | 41 - 50 of 998 | | Althought nondescript by day, the Eiffel Tower comes to life at night..... It's certainly a must to enjoy its play of lights from the Champs de Mars, the grassy area around it. Amazing to think that the great tower which epitomes romance around the world was only meant to be an exhibition piece when built back in 1889 Leave a Comment Directions: no worries... it's practically impossible to miss out this magnificent structure....

We were not about to spend three hours of our day queueing for the elevator to the top. Instead, we waited ten minutes, paid 3.50 EURO and walked the stairs to the 1st level. There is a post office that will give your postcards a special Tour Eiffel ink stamp, but buy your postcards elsewhere. They are VERY expensive here. You will be bombarded by vendors and massive crowds. We were happy to admire the view and get out of here! Leave a Comment Directions: You can't miss it!!!

The only thing that could have improved this experience was having greater knowledge of the landmarks and the sights that I was observing... But even without this, it was still memorable! You have to do this someday! The only thing in my mind that could improve upon this experience is to be there with your most special someone and thereby create a bond of love and a memory that you will share forever! Our first day we went to see this impressive tower of 300 meters high, and a price of 10 Euros to go to the top. Even if the second floor is the best one for photographs, a visit to the top is a must do. On the top you can hear all the languages of the world lol... What a great business is this tower, is all we pay 10 Euros and there were queues like that in November, I wonder how much they have to earn over there. Leave a Comment

In the evening, take the #6 metro to Trocadero and walk to the "porch". You will get a bonus light show (no fireworks) if you arrive at the top of the hour. Eiffel Millenium Light Show For bigger, better shots than mine shown here, goto Anthony's Paris Photos and click on "Photo Gallery" on the left, open a bottle of wine, and enjoy. Thanks to Anthony Atkielski for inspiring Tour Eiffel shots he spent so much time taking and shares. Leave a Comment Directions: Shot from Parvis Trocadero (Metro Trocadero ligne 6) or you can shoot the other angle from Ecole Militaire / Champ du Mars.

The Eiffel Tower is 114 years old and 324m high. There are lifts that go to the floors and stairs go just up to the second floor. It is open every day of the year, usually from 9.30am-midnight. We paid for a ticket right to the top (10,40 euros), but we firstly stopped off on the second floor where the views were still amazing. Please look at my Paris page travelogue for views from up the Eiffel Tower. Leave a Comment

The Eiffel Tower. You can't miss it. You can climb to the top, or take the lift/elevator. I would recommend taking the stairs, as there are lots of information boards on the way up about the tower, and you can try and spot the models of men painting the structure. Plus, it is cheaper and the queues are much shorter! There are three levels altogether. The first two have cafes, shops, a museum and even a post office, which will give your postcards a special stamp if you post them there! Also, it is good to have a place to go if it rains. Bear in mind that you only pay to get to the second level. In order to get to the third, you must buy another ticket!!! For those who don't like heights (if you would even consider going up the tower anyway) The trip to the third floor is in a glass lift/elevator. At the top, you can get outside, but there is plenty of caging to make sure you don't fall out! It can get quite crowded up there, but it is well worth it. It also gets a lot of graffiti and if you look closely, there are quite a few marriage proposals written on the walls and wooden rail round the perimeter. There are also (pay) telescopes, but you don't really need them. Final tip: go during the day for the views, but at night, they light it up. Open: 9/9.30am-midnight (Summer) 9.30-18.30 (Winter). This can vary, and there may be a slight difference depending on whether you take the stairs or lift/elevator. Leave a Comment

This was one of the many highlights of our visit. Being an engineerint type, I really was blown away by its sheer size. At night, they put on an impressive light show. If you're afraid of heights, don't take the stairs back down, you may get freaked out by all that open air below you. Leave a Comment Directions: It's in the 7th Arrondissement. You can't miss it!!

You can't come all the way to Paris and not visit the city's most infamous landmark, now can you? Located on the river's edge toward the west end of the west bank, the Eiffel Tower sits at the end of the scenic Parc du Champ de Mars opposite the neoclassical Palais de Chaillot accross the river. During peak tourist season it can take up to two hours to reach the top of the Eiffel Tower, so travelers are well advised to go when the crowds are thinner. In a city with a relatively low skyline, the Eiffel Tower is by far the highest structure and gives visitors a spectacular view of the entire city and beyond. I waited some 90 minutes to get to the top of the Tower, on a Tuesday afternoon in December. To be honest with you, I have some vertigo and was quite apprehensive to do this. My original plan was to go to the second level only, not all the way to the top. However, I decided to "go for it", and I'm glad I did. What an amazing view, all the way around. You can see everything. And it's very secure up there, with glass and steel railings - it's not wide open like I thought it would be. Admission depends on how high you go - there are three different levels, and the highest level is also the most expensive: the elevator ride to the top costs 11 euros for adults, 6 euros for kids 3-11. If you want to save some money and are in good shape, consider climbing. No, I don't mean climbing the outside of the Tower - you climb the stairs. It's cheaper, but you can only go to the second level. By the way, there are restaurants on the first and second levels. Enjoy the view! Leave a Comment
