 | Paris Eiffel Tower Reviews | 51 - 60 of 998 | | The Eiffel Tower is probably the best known monument in Paris. It was built on the occasion of the World Expo in 1889 and, with its 321 m height, it used to be the tallest building in the world. Standing at the base of one of the four pillars it is amazing to see how huge the tower is, and how graceful the ironwork of Gustave Eiffel. You can either walk to the first and second platform or take the elevator. The highest level (300 m) can only be reached by elevator. The views on Paris are spectacular, especially at dusk or at night. At night the tower is beautifully lit and it's open until 11pm in the winter, until midnight in the summer. We walked all the way up to the second level (that is as far as you can walk, you must take elevator to the top). I think we beat the people waiting inline for the elevator. Be careful doing this though there are 704 stairs. It was a really good work out. On the second level there are many things to do, but most importantly buy postcards and stamps so you can send a postcard from the top. Yes they have a mailbox at the very top of the eiffel tower. It will have a special stamp on it that says it came from the top. Much more meaningful than a traditional postcard. The restaurant in the eiffel tower is good. My father and I ate there, but you have to reserve good seats months in advance and it is pretty pricey. You must go to the top of the eiffel tower twice, once during the day and once at night Leave a Comment Directions: You can't miss it!!!

With its 324m height, you can't miss the Eiffel Tower. It rises high above the buildings and you can see it wherever you are in Paris. The tower was originally built by Gustave Eiffel for the world exhibition of 1889. It was supposed to be a temporarily work of art. Until 1931, it was the highest building of the world. Go up to enjoy a spectacular view of Paris and surroundings. On a clear day, you can see for 72m. There are 3 levels. Level 1 and 2 can be reached by stairs or elevator. Here you can find a restaurant and post office. You need an elevator to reach the third level for the best view. On the third level, you can feel the tower move back and forth. It is said that it moves about 7 cm. Leave a Comment

This sight really needs no explanation. It's what people associate Paris with. The lines to view the tower from above can be a bit long at times. If not possible it's good enough to get a full view across the tower at Champs de Mars. Leave a Comment Directions: You can't miss it!!!

This is so huge that you just have to see it to believe it! You have a few options when visiting, you can either go by lift all the way to the top! Or you can take the lift to the second floor, you also have the option of taking the stairs to the second floor too! Expect long waiting times especially if taking the lift to the top. How can anyone visit Paris and not notice the Eiffel Tower? Its presence is everywhere -there will be so many times when you will catch a glimpse of it through narrow streets, behind other buildings and monuments, out of a window. Even if you feel you've seen it a hundred time before, it always makes you look at it. Whether you choose to join the queues to go up it, just walk around the base, take it in from a boat on the river or simply see it from afar, the chances of you leaving Paris without at least one photo of it are very slim. I was quite excited to see The Eiffel Tower and it was worth to wait: I went up once during the evening and once during the day and made 100s of pictures...an amazing and unforgettable experience! Highly recommended! :) Price to the 3rd floor is 10,70 EUR. Don't bother with the price to the 1st or 2nd floor, if you are there you just have to go up to the top!! :) However, don't miss to visit these two "stops" either, they can provide a diferent view on the city and on the tower itself as well! We stepped out of the Metro station at Volontaires where our hotel was located and the first thing we saw as we turned our heads to the right was the Eiffel Tower reaching high above the Paris skyline. You can see this spectacular monument peeking at you between buildings as you walk around the city, and at night it is spectacularly illuminated in gold, a sweeping searchlight encircles the crest throwing out a beacon which can be seen for miles. Every hour, on the hour hundreds of strobe lights are set sparkling like priceless gemstones. It is a truly breathtaking sight. Leave a Comment Directions: You can't miss it!!! We managed to get there from Volontaires simply by walking towards it. It was about 2 miles away.
