Well, let me tell you about one instance at the Eiffel Tower. There was this keychain, and it was just simply the tower and a key ring, which at the Eiffel Tower gift shop cost 8USD. I went down the road and found it for 1USD at a gift shop near the metro! Leave a Comment

Be aware of the prices (food, souvenirs) around the touristplaces in Paris, specially around the Eiffel tower. A chocolatecrêpe there can cost between 2-3 euro (absolutely too much) while you get one for 1euro just some quarters away (outside Paris they cost 50 cents) Leave a Comment

The Eifel Tower is a very hotspot for the city. It's not really a tourist trap but it does get awfully busy. I rode the elevator up to the second level and walked the rest of the way up. Very beautiful up there! :) Leave a Comment

I know not everyone will agree with me but I think it is not worth the wait to go up the Eiffel Tower. I've been twice which was about 1-1/2 times too many. I guess the first time was ok because it was late and there was not much of a wait. But the second time I went we spent a ridiculous amount of time trying to get up there. Then once you get up there, you are so high up that you really don't have such a good view of anything. It is better to climb to the top of Notre Dame for a city view. The impressive part of the Eiffel Tower is what you can see from the ground. Leave a Comment

If you have plenty of time to see Paris, by all means see Notre Dame, but if your visit is limited, you may want to see other more beautiful architectural structures such as Sacre Coeur. Also, the Eiffel Tower is okay for about 15 minutes, but it's not worth standing in line or paying the fee to go up the tower. While the Louvre is a great museum, beware of overcrowding, particularly for the Mona Lisa and Venus de Milo, which if you really want to see, are probably best seen in the early hours when the museum is not overflowing with visitors.
The Eiffel Tower is best admired from afar, particularly with the spectacular view from Sacre Coeur, which actually overlooks the inferior Tower. Leave a Comment

The Eiffel Tower. No, this isn't big news -- we all know that Tour D'Eiffel is much like The Empire State Building. But, again, why refuse to go see it just because we all know it's a tourist trap. Personally, I'm glad we went. It didn't take more than 20 minutes out of our day. We didn't ride to the top, which I'm told is quite a treat. But we did marvel at its size and don't regret the visit, despite the fact that we could have been somewhere else. Leave a Comment

Do not eat at the cafes around the Eiffel Tower. They are completely overpriced and the food really isn't that great. There is plenty of scenery around Paris...find another cafe.
Go to the grocery store and have a picnic with wine in the grassy area in front of the Tower. Leave a Comment
