 | Paris Eiffel Tower Reviews | 31 - 40 of 60 | | I went this past December to Paris and all my family went to the Eiffel tower. Al vendor were pushing us to buy, we have to be body to body not to be robed.,hours in line to go up, it is not worth the time. You can go to Galeries la Fallete and have a nice view and also enjoy the good food and buy some to take to the hotel

The only thing that spoils a visit to the tower are the street hawkers who try to sell you cheap 1 euro tacky light up Eiffel Towers. These people are persisent, even if you move away from the tower and sit by the road. Most I am certain were not even french. They should be moved on.

The shops around the Eifel tower. If you want an Eifel tower keychain, buy it for half price from one of the illegal street vendors. It's the same stuff they have in the stores, just stolen, but what do you care? Leave a Comment

The tour Eiffel is rusted and cozy. There's not much to see. Leave a Comment

There is a drunken french man at the foot of the eifell tower taking polaroid photos of young couples and then demanding and in one case just snatching 10 - 20 euros off them for the photo.
JUST SAY NO AND KEEP WALKING AWAY Leave a Comment

They seek out English speaking people to beg for money "for easten Europe". So much for their poverty level-I saw about 6 women get into a new minivan and leave after being shooed off by Paris police!

Watch out for constant African hawkers trying to sell you crap at ridiculous prices. If you need some tack to take back with you then bargain them down by walking away if they don't accept your offer. Ruins the area for strolling around though
Get used to ignoring people if they are hassling you to buy Leave a Comment

When my husband and I went to the eiffel tower, a woman walked up to us (we were on the green--away from the crowd) and handed me a card that said she was from russia and was stranded and needed money to get back home. This made sense to me, so I handed her like 2 euros and walked happily along. 2 minutes later, I came across several other women with different cards and different nationalities doing the same scam. I felt like a fool but I laughed it off and bought my ticket to go to the top! The eiffel tower is a must and was wonderful....just beware.

When you visit the Eiffel Tower, there are so many beggars and pickpockets in the centre. It is like Traffalger Square with the pidgeons. Never give them any money. The women generally have babys and toddlers that they have drugged. They can get quite aggressive when you tell them where to go. Leave a Comment

Yes, the Eiffel Tower is an amazing piece of architecture. But get underneath its phallic spike and everyone tries to sell you a keychain with a tiny replica dangling from the end. For ten euros. And your French companions try to make you buy one. And then, because the elevator is so crowded, you get to climb up several flights of stairs to see the beautiful view across Paris...and more kitschy souvenirs. Maybe my experience was soured because I was being stalked around the tower by some dude named Ab-Dalle and his creepy Mafia-esque sidekick. Hhmph.
Chill out, take the elevator to the top, and grab some coffee at a small second- or third-floor cafe.
Or, if you're hippie like me, you could just take a blanket and some bongoes and hang out on the Notre Dame green. Leave a Comment
